Eldest son of renowned founder Hermann Gladenbeck, 1827-1918. Oskar first cooperated w/his father and later became the leader of the foundry when his father retired in 1892. The firm flourished during the time of public monuments, fountains and other memorials but they also produced smaller bronze works. Hemann's other sons Walter, Paul an Alfred were founders as well but family discord and dwindling orders lead to the demise of the foundry. Signed "AKT-GES Gladenbeck Berlin." ht. 13 in.
